WHY IS MY RO TANK NOT FILLING WITH WATER?

RO water filters are the most common reason for a slow-filling RO tank and faucet flow. Trying to fill a reverse osmosis water tank with a fouled membrane may take 4-6 hours, rather than the usual 2-4 hours. You may want to set a calendar alarm so you’ll remember to replace your filters on time.

WHY IS MY WATER COMING OUT SLOW?

If your valves are open all the way and you’re still experiencing slow water flow, then the cause might be a clog. The first place to check is the aerator. If you’ve cleaned the aerator and the water flow is still weak, there may be a clog in the pipes. As time goes by, mineral deposits build up in the piping.

HOW LONG DOES AN RO SYSTEM LAST?

They could last 10-15 years but only when they are regularly maintained. This means the cartridges should be replaced annually and the parts are regularly inspected for any problems. Some parts may wear out (e.g. storage tanks, tubing) over time.

DO I NEED TO SANITIZE MY RO SYSTEM?

A reverse osmosis system should be sanitized once each year. It’s a good idea to do complete the sanitization process during filter changes since most filters are replaced every 12 months. As you change out the filters and sanitize your water filter system, appropriate sanitation procedures should be used.

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF RO MEMBRANE IS BAD?

Little water pressure is a sign that there is a problem with your reverse osmosis water filter. If the water pressure is below about 40 PSI, then check both the storage tank, RO membrane or the water filters to see if one of them needs to be replaced.
